Nicolas Cuneen

I am a postdoctoral research fellow (chargé de recherche FNRS) at the Hoover Chair in Economic and Social Ethics, UCLouvain, Belgium. My research examines how pedagogical relationships contribute to young people’s development and how educational institutions can support those relationships.

My current work asks how education can cultivate responsible attention: learning to notice what matters in a situation and how our actions may bear on it. I study the role of everyday exchanges with educators in shaping this attention, alongside the conditions that allow teachers to exercise thoughtful professional judgment.
